Ben brings over a decade of diverse coaching experience to help people improve, discover, and learn. His doctoral training in depth psychology combined with his unique background—teaching therapists-in-training, coaching athletic teams, touring with international musical acts, managing restaurants, and guiding individuals, couples, and families through life transitions—allows him to offer a comprehensive approach that integrates concepts and experiences from multiple fields.

MY APPROACH
A Guide to Your Goals

You are here because there are things you want to change, improve, or gain in your life. My work is to support you as we explore your world together—asking tough questions, offering strength-based cognitive and emotional exercises, examining mind-body connections, and developing practical plans to implement meaningful change. We'll look at your history, relationships, strengths, challenges, daily routines, and patterns of thoughts, feelings, and reactions. This isn't a one-size-fits-all approach; everyone has different needs, challenges, and limitations, requiring a uniquely tailored program.

 

I work from the following core beliefs: we all have blind spots, we all have strengths, and we all have room to grow. I appreciate life's paradoxes. For example: The tortoise wins the race; the most confident people lead with humility and an open heart; the best teachers remain students; and the most secure people help others while maintaining healthy boundaries. Together, we'll explore how these principles, and many others, can guide your growth and success through concrete actions and sustainable practices.

My Story

As a coach and lifelong learner, I blend diverse experiences in psychology, recovery, music, and cultural exploration to help others become healthier, more relational, more balanced, and discover their path to purpose and peace. Born in Los Angeles to Chilean roots, my bilingual and bicultural background has shaped my understanding of human complexity and resilience. My journey has taken me from the streets of Santiago to the shores of California, where I graduated from UC Santa Cruz before embarking on a successful music career as a touring bassist and vocalist, contributing to a Grammy-winning album.

Life's transitions led me from performing worldwide to managing hospitality venues. Becoming a father and embarking on my own journey of self-exploration and inner work sparked a deeper calling—helping others navigate their personal transformations. This path inspired me to earn both a Master's in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Depth Psychology, combining academic rigor with real-world wisdom.

 

I maintain separate practices as a Life Coach and psychotherapist, drawing on my varied experiences to create a unique approach that values both grit and vulnerability. My coaching style emphasizes authenticity, balancing lightness with depth while helping clients align their aspirations with meaningful action. When not working with clients, I focus on family, fitness, reading, writing, and continuing my own journey of growth and discovery.
